This Week in Books

September 11, 2019

This Week in Books is a weekly round-up hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?

THEN: I read Shrill by Lindy West. Initially, I was a little skeptical, but ended up enjoying the book and the author's voice, and agreed with many of her points. Nothing revolutionary (or it shouldn't be), but a worthwhile read. You can find my review here.

NOW: I am currently reading Colombiano by Rusty Young and it's very good so far! It's about Colombia's child soldiers and based on true events, though the book is fiction. Dark, but really compelling so far!

NEXT: My reading tastes are so up in the air at the moment. I'm jumping from one genre to the next, though this approach has led to some great reads this summer. I have heard a lot about This Tender Land by William Kent and might make that my next read. Have you read any of his books? What did you think?
