This Week in Books
This Week in Books is a fun meme hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?
THEN: Over the weekend I finished reading Cross Her Heart by Sarah Pinborough. It was an anticipated book for me, and though it was fast paced and engaging, I find I am already forgetting its details. For all the hype, I don't think it ever rose above a slew of other books in this genre. Have you read it or the author's previous book Behind Her Eyes? What did you think? You can find my review of Cross Her Heart here.
NOW: I am almost done with Six Stories Mike Wesolowski. It tells the story of a murder in a format to echo a true crime podcast like Serial. I like the format and the story is engaging, but the pace is definitely much slower than I expected it to be. I'm not sure yet whether i will read the sequel, Hydra.
NEXT: I will probably read Three Things About Elsie by Joanna Cannon next. I have hear really good things about this book, and as I've been reading so much crime fiction lately, I think I need a little break. This book sounds really charming and I hope my high expectations given all the attention it has been getting will be met!
