This Week in Books
This Week in Books is a fun meme hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?
THEN: I finished reading The Retreat by Mark Edwards yesterday. I've read a number of his books, and they are always engaging and quite well written and plotted. This one was no exception.
NOW: I am currently reading Believe Me by J.P. Delaney. I was very underwhelmed by his previous novel, The Girl Before, but maybe it helped me manage my expectations. Believe Me is, in tone and style, not dissimilar to his prior book, but I am finding it a little more clever and more twisty. So far, I am intrigued and eager to know ho this strange story will end.
NEXT: I think I will read The Daughters of the Palatine Hill by Phyllis T. Smith next. I was recently in Rome, and am a fan of historical fiction (plus it might do me good to take a short break from crime fictions sometimes;-) I read and enjoyed the author's previous book, I Am Livia, and am hoping this book will be just as good.
Have you read any of these books? What did you think?
