This Week in Books
This Week in Books is a fun meme hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. In this post I look back on a book I've finished, highlight one I am currently reading, and one I will read in the near future. What are you reading these days?
THEN: I finished reading Sara Holland's Everless, which definitely lived up to my lofty expectations. The writing was solid, the protagonist interesting and likable (a contrast to many in recent YA fantasy novels I have read) and the world-building very well done. I only wish I didn't have to wait another year for the sequel! Look for a longer review coming soon:-)
NOW: I started reading Best Day Ever by Kaira Rouda, and so far, it's quite engaging. I can't say much yet, but it was highly praised by quite a few authors and bloggers I like and I hope that means it will be as clever and enjoyable as they say for me, too!
NEXT: My pile of library check-outs is a little embarrassing, so it's difficult to say exactly what I will pick up next. But I am inclined to go for Louise O'Neill's Asking For It. I wanted to read it when it came out years ago, but even then my tbr was out of control, and I never got around to it. Also, it deals with the subject of assault, which is of course extremely relevant, but very difficult to read about. Have you read it? What did you think?
